HOW TO PLAY COMPOUND CONES MUSIC COUNTING GAME IN COMPOUND METERS
Our students have loved building their own ice cream cones as they play this music counting game in compound meters.
The gameplay is simple: mix and match ice cream tops, middles, and bottoms to build ice cream cones!
But you have to watch out – because the ice cream cones must be created with all three correct time meters!
In addition to creating 10 mix ‘n’ match rhythm cones in each meter, some students like to match the exact rhythm for each ice cream cone piece (e.g. two dotted quarter notes for the top, middle, and bottom).
However you choose to build your ice cream cone, finish up with clapping and counting the cones.
GROUP LESSON GAME FOR COMPOUND CONES MUSIC COUNTING GAME IN COMPOUND METERS
Once you start playing Compound Cones in your studio, there are many options!
Play Compound Cones with your group classes by shuffling all of the ice cream cone pieces together and dealing each student 3 cards.
Students must take turns drawing ice cream cone pieces to race and be the first to put together a complete rhythm ice cream cone.
